Saints Augustine’s Holds Annual Speech Day & Prize-Giving Ceremony June 17th, 2011
Saints Augustine’s students turned out in force for their annual Speech Day & Prize-Giving Ceremony, held at Saints Augustine’s Senior Secondary School, Banjul on June 17 2011.
Guest of Honour, His Lordship Robert P Elison, Chairman of the Board of Governors-Fr. David Jimoh Jarju, special guests-Fr Peter Lopez, teachers, students, 
parents and prize winners were proud to see many academic prizes awarded and appreciated the speeches given by the guest speaker Fr Lopez , a former student of Saints Augustine’s.
Fr Lopez spoke on Making a Difference and inspiring the students to consider now what they might have to look back on in 40 years time. The core advice was "You have a simple choice – work hard and achieve your potential for yourself".
Outgoing School Prefects
In the context of Saints Augustine’s Senior Secondary School, a prefect is a pupil who has been given limited, trust-type authority over other pupils in the school. Saints Prefects, are usually students in tenth , eleventh and twelfth years have considerable power and effectively run the school outside the classroom. Our students showed their appreciation for the time and effort the outgoing Prefects have put into their roles as student leaders and role models.
Graduants
Graduation is only a concept. In real life every day you graduate. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you'll make a difference. ~Arie Pencovici
St.Augustine’s Senior Secondary School Banjul held a graduation ceremony for the outgoing students of grade 12 here on Friday. In all, 331 students walked out of the school with a pledge to uphold faith and strive to build the nation to make a difference.
